Harold R. Vickers was born in North Sydney, Nova Scotia.

Mr. Vickers received his Bachelor of Arts Degree at St. Francis Xavier University, Antigonish, Nova Scotia, with Honours Distinction in English and History.

Mr. Vickers received a Bachelor of Laws Degree from Dalhousie University, Halifax, nova Scotia in 1975 and was admitted to The Law Society of Alberta in 1976.

Mr. Vickers completed his articles with Eamon, Rollins and Company, Barristers and Solicitors, Calgary, Alberta with particular emphasis on Real Estate and Mortgage practice where he commenced his foreclosure practice in 1977.

In 1980, Mr. Vickers jointly opened Eamon, Vickers, Vogel & Butler, which law firm subsequently became Eamon Vickers & Gillis. As Mr. Eamon wished to downgrade his practice due to age, Mr. Vickers thereafter initiated Vickers Gillis Pomerance Dartnell & Knibbe. This last mentioned firm was disbanded in May of 1985, at which time Mr. Vickers established an independent foreclosure practice with emphasis on commercial and residential real estate, mortgages and commercial and residential foreclosure.

In 1986, Mr. Vickers established Vickers & Associates which became Vickers Hendrix LLP in 2009 and practices in the areas of Litigation, Corporation and Commercial law, and commercial and residential real estate with particular emphasis on mortgages and mortgage foreclosures for National Banks, Trust Companies, Mortgage Investment Corporations and Private Lenders.

Mr. Vickers has lectured for the Alberta Mortgage Brokers Association ("AMBA") and is employed by Mount Royal College (now Mount Royal University) as a lecturer for the Mortgage Brokerage course which is mandatory for Alberta Mortgage Brokers. Mr. Vickers has drafted and updated course materials for AMBA in relation to current mortgage practices, with emphasis on the Fair Trading Act and its impact on mortgage brokers as well as Legislation Affecting Mortgages.

Mr. Vickers practice is primarily limited to the areas of litigation, commercial and residential real estate and foreclosures. Over the years he has set a number of precedents and has numerous reported cases in the area of foreclosures, one of which is the Standard Trust Company v. Steele etc. case, which the lender's position is considerably strengthened relative to the taking of security in commercial areas of real estate.

Harold Vickers currently handles the major aspects of firm promotion and public relations. Mr. Vickers is not actively involved with or engaged in the conduct, or the handling, of any client files as a barrister and solicitor. All files are handled by other responsible lawyers in the firm.
